Organised by Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja and hosted by National Open University in Nigeria, a seminar on “Bangabandhu’s Thoughts on Inclusive Education Policy: Forging Educational Partnership between Bangladesh and Nigeria” was held at the Auditorium of National Open University of Nigeria in Abuja today. Bangladesh High Commissioner, Masudur Rahman presented the key note paper, while Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac S.R Butswat represented the Vice Chancellor Professor Olufemi Peters and spoke and read out the Vice Chancellors message on the ocassion .
Other speakers were Professor Shaheed Ajebola, Dean of Faculty of Science, Mrs. Omorogieva E. Ileka, Director of Directorate of Advancement and Linkages and Mr. Bidosh Chandra Barman, Counselor and Head of Chancery of the Mission. Others present were Professor Shaheed Ajebola, Dean of Faculty of Science and Mrs. Omorogieva E. Ileka, Director of Directorate of Advancement and Linkages, Professor Iyabode O.A Nwabueze, Dean, Faculty of Arts, a good number of teachers and researchers, chamber leaders, journalist and the officials of the Mission.
The seminar provided fresh hindsight for broadening open and distanced learning between the National Open University of Nigeria and their equivalent counterpart university in Bangladesh, while High Commissioner’s keynote was focussed on three part broadly:
i. Bangabandhu’s vision for inclusive education,
ii. Remarkable educational achievements in Bangladesh,
iii. Forging educational collaboration between Bangladesh and Nigeria.
